12 Indonesian Navy Warships Alerted For The G20 Summit, The National Police Will Use 8000 Personnel

YOGYAKARTA A total of 12 Indonesian Navy warships were prepared to secure the G20 Summit in Bali on November 15-16, 2022.

This information was conveyed by the Chief of Naval Staff (KASAL) Admiral Yufo Margono after inaugurating the Integrated TNI Fuel Filling Station (SPBT) I at Kodamar Headquarters, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

"This is to secure state leaders so that we must really prepare ships that are ready to fight," said Yudo, quoted by VOI from Antara.

Admiral Yudo did not explain what ships would be deployed to secure the activities of the G20 Summit.

According to Yudo, the 12 Indonesian Navy warships will be placed within a radius of 12 miles in the waters of Bali and its surroundings.

"Then we cover it again outside with a larger ship. Of course it will guard against things that may be bad from the high seas and from the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zones)," he said.

In addition to warships, the number of personnel deployed was around 3,000, including the crew of the KRI and several units, such as Lantamal V Surabaya, Lanal Banyuwangi, Lanal Denpasar, Marines, and other joint elements from Koarmada I, II, and III.

"Including aircraft, all KRI combatants who have 'heideck' I ordered to carry all helicopters so that they can be integrated, then there are special forces from Denjaka and Kopaska who are 'on board' at the KRI," said Yudo.

The former Commander of Kogabwilan I added that in the near future he will hold a "tactical floor game (TFG) to finalize preparations for securing the G20 Summit.

"As the coach, I want to know how the Commander of the Commander of Koarmada II Admiral TNI TSNB Hutabarat as Commander of the Sea Task Force (Dansatgasla) in carrying out the security of the G20 with joint elements from the fleets 1, 2, and 3 with marine personnel, so I have to determine how much is projected," said Yudo.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo said that the security readiness of the G20 Summit in Bali until the end of October had reached 75 percent, security facilities and infrastructure would continue to be improved until November it had reached 100 percent.

"Currently, from 75 percent preparation, on November 7, we hope that 90 percent will be ready and November 11 all 100 percent will be ready. That includes the TNI, Polri, from the local government (Pemda), we involve Pecalang and everything will be held later," said Dedi at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday.

In securing the G20 Summit, the National Police deployed 8,000 joint personnel from the level of the National Police Headquarters, Bali Police and the closest regional police such as the West Java Regional Police, NTB Regional Police and East Java Regional Police.

The two-star general explained that before the G20 Summit was held (14-15 November), the National Police carried out the Puri Agung Operation from 7 to 18 November.

The number of security involved is five clusters. The first cluster of Seminyak was secured by 297 personnel. The Jimbaran cluster was secured by 257 personnel, the C Sanur cluster was secured by 82 personnel, the North Nusa Dua cluster 187 personnel and the South Nusa Dua cluster 213 personnel.

"All personnel involved specifically in the cluster are 1,038 personnel," he said.

Then the security at the airport is divided into Ring I Paspampres, Ring II from the Air Base by Paskas and Ring III from Kodam and Polda Bali.

"All personnel involved with security at the airport are 340 personnel," he said.

The former Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police's Public Relations Division also explained that the Puri Agung 2022 Task Force carried out security based on the divided ring, Ring I was secured from Paspampres, Ring II combined with the TNI-Polri, Ring III security for the TNI and parts of the Police.

The next security in the Garuda Wisnu Kencana hotel and area (GWK) is 245 personnel, the Mangrove Forest area is 233 personnel, the Kura-Perus Island area has 201 personnel.

"These are the areas that are the focus of observations of the Puri Agung 2022 Task Force," said Dedi.

The G20 is a global forum consisting of 19 countries and one region with 80 percent contribution to the world's gross domestic product (GDP), 75 percent of international trade, and 60 percent of the world's population.

The 17th G20 Summit will be held in Bali on November 15-16, 2022. The summit is the culmination of the intensive processes and businesses of all G20 workflows (Meetings at the Ministerial, Working Groups, and Engagement Groups) during the year of Indonesian Chairship.

The theme that Indonesia has raised in the 2022 G20 Presidency is "Recover Together, Recover Stronger". Through this theme, the Government of Indonesia wants to invite the whole world to work hand in hand, support each other to recover together, and grow stronger and more sustainable.

The three main priority issues raised at the meeting were the global health architecture, the sustainable energy transition, digital transformation, and the economy.

The G20 Summit is a multilateral cooperation forum consisting of 19 main countries and the European Union. The G20 represents more than 60 percent of the earth's population, 75 percent of global trade, and 80 percent of the world's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

G20 members consist of South Africa, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, England, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, France, China, Turkey, and the European Union.
