1,168 TNI-Polri Personnel Escort The Journey Of COVID-19 Vaccine From Cengkareng To Bio Farma Bandung
JAKARTA - A total of 1,168 joint TNI-Polri personnel were deployed to escort the COVID-19 vaccine journey from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to the head office of PT Bio Farma in Bandung, West Java.
Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, said that the personnel involved were 238 personnel from the Police Headquarters, Polda Metro Jaya with 152 personnel, West Java Regional Police 530 personnel, and from the TNI with 248 soldiers.
It is known that as many as 1.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine made by a pharmaceutical company from China, Sinovac, arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) on Sunday, December 6 at around 21:25 WIB.
"We have carried out security and escort to Bio Farma Bandung on Monday morning at around 04.31 WIB. The National Police and the TNI carried out escort and security from Cengkareng airport to exiting the airport, then from Jakarta to Bio Farma in Bandung," said Inspector General Argo in an update 'Covid-19 Vaccine Distribution and Quality Control Planning' virtually, Tuesday, December 8.
Argo said that strict health protocol was implemented in the procedure for sending the vaccine to Bandung. One of them is requiring drivers or drivers to carry out a rapid test first.
"At the KP3 Police, we conducted a rapid test on the drivers who transported the vaccine. Of the six people, all of them were non-reactive and after that they were allowed to leave," he explained.
According to Argo, the TNI and Polri escorted the arrival of 7 cold storage containing vaccines from China to Bandung, not only during the trip. However, security is also carried out at Bio Farma to provide a sense of security to workers.
"We will fully support government policies, we will give full power," he said.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Bio Farma (Persero) Honesti Basyir thanked all parties involved in escorting the COVID-19 vaccine journey from Cengkareng to Bandung.
"Thanks to the support of various parties, the process for the first arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine went smoothly. There were 1.2 million doses of ready-to-use in Indonesia and arrived at Bio Farma on December 7, 2020," he explained.
