FPI Said About The Shooting Incident Of Laksar Guard Rizieq Shihab With The Police

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Ahmad Shabri Lubis denied two statements made by the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran regarding the shooting incident of six special army guards of Rizieq Shihab.

Shabri denied that the laskar carried out the attack when the police were following Rizieq in an investigation into a case of violation of health protocols, which forced the police to fire shots at the six laskar.

"It was not true that the escort troops carried out the attack. What happened was that Habib Rizieq's group was harassed and threatened for safety and attacked," said Shabri in a written statement, Tuesday, December 8.

Shabri also denied that the irregulars had firearms. He said that the paramilitary troops who were FPI's ranks were never equipped with weapons. So, according to him, there could be no shooting incident between the two sides.

"That is not true if the paramilitary troops have firearms and carried out the shooting. Because no FPI paramilitary troops have been equipped or equipped themselves with any weapons," he said.

Shabri considered that there was something odd about this incident. The police said there were gunfire and assaults, but no police officers were injured by gunshot wounds.

"It is strange, it is called a shooting incident, but not a single bullet hit a party recognized as an officer, but instead 6 soldiers died when all were shot," he said.

The police attack by Rizieq Shihab's laskar took place around 00.30 WIB Monday, early morning. Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said that the police received news that the mass of supporters of Rizieq Shihab would be deployed in connection with the investigation, which was said to be circulating in many WhatsApp groups.

The Regional Police conducted an investigation into the truth of the information and followed the vehicle Rizieq was in. On the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, Fadil said the officers' vehicles were intercepted and then attacked using firearms and sharp weapons.

"Members who were threatened with their safety because they were attacked, then took a firm measure of measure, so that the group suspected of being MRS followers, totaling 10, died as many as 6 people," said Fadil.
