West Java PLN Reviewed 104 SPKLUs Throughout West Java
JAKARTA - Coinciding with the 77th National Electricity Day, the PLN West Java Distribution Main Unit (UID Jabar) launched 104 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread throughout West Java. West Java Provincial Governor Ridwan Kamil appreciated PLN's steps to continue to encourage the electric vehicle ecosystem by activating SPKLU as the main infrastructure for electric vehicles.
"PLN is a leader in this energy transformation, providing role models for the community so that it can improve the ecosystem for the use of electric vehicles, especially in the West Java region," said Ridwan Kamil in an official statement, Saturday, October 29.
General Manager of PLN UID West Java, Agung Nugraha said that the 104 SPKLUs were placed at 92 points at the PLN office of Customer Service Units throughout West Java, 7 points at the PLN Customer Service Implementation Unit office, 3 points at the Regional Government Office, 1 point at the Bogor Palace, and 1 point on the southern route to Banjar.
He explained that this SPKLU was a big leap in West Java for accelerating the use of electric vehicles in West Java.
The number of SPKLUs will be a big leap in West Java because previously there were only 5 SPKLU points that were integrated with the PLN Mobile application, namely at the PLN UP3 Bandung Office, Rest Area 207A, Rest Area 208B, PLN ULP North Bandung, and Gedung Sate Bandung, "explained Agung.
Agung Nugraha added that PLN is committed to continuing to increase the number of SPKLUs to accelerate the formation of a battery-based electric motor vehicle ecosystem in West Java. In 2023, PLN will increase the number of SPKLU locations by 208 points. Meanwhile, in 2024, 416 SPKLU locations will be added with public business schemes (housing).
"To encourage SPKLU business growth, PLN has also prepared a cooperation scheme in the form of a franchise, with an investment value starting from IDR 350 million, varying depending on the SPKLU type," said Agung.
Not only that, in supporting this electric vehicle program, PLN also presents various stimuli for vehicle owners. New installation promos with special prices, discounted electricity rates by 30 percent from 10 pm to 5 am to charge electric cars.
PLN has also created Electric Vehicle Digital Services (EVDS). This EVDS is a platform for various electric vehicle services. EVDS will improve customer experience by digitizing and integrating all customer service systems for users or potential electric vehicle users.
"PLN hopes that with the support and cooperation of the Government and the private sector, West Java will become a pioneer area for leading electric vehicle users in Indonesia", concluded Agung.
