Update On COVID-19 As Of December 7: New Cases Of 5,754, Positivity Rate Increases To 14.3 Percent
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 26,873 specimens were examined with the results of 5,754 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 581,550 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, December 7.
Today's cases increased by 4,431, so that a total of 479,202 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 127 people and a total of 17,867 people.
The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,466 new cases and a total of 145,427 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java which has 1,171 new cases with a total of 60,444 cases. Central Java has 594 new cases and a total of 61,108 cases. Then, East Java has 545 new cases and a total of 65,557 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,065 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 934 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 441 recovered cases, and Bali with an increase of 313 recovered cases.
Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Jambi and Gorontalo.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 6,059,415. In detail, a total of 5,952,620 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 106,795 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.
Finally, for the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 72,986 people. Currently, 507 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
