Medical Experts Call COVID-19 Can Cause Erectile Dysfunction
JAKARTA - Dr. Dena Grayson from the United States said that people who suffer long-term illness after a diagnosis of COVID-19 can become paralyzed due to erectile dysfunction.
Speaking to the NBC Chicago affiliate, the American medical doctor - who had previously run for congress - revealed that his team was learning something new about the new coronavirus.
"We now know that people can have long-term health effects from this virus, neurological complications," said Dr. Dena was quoted by the Daily Star, Monday, December 7.
"And now, for the men watching this - there's a real concern here that men could have long-term erectile dysfunction problems from this virus, because we know that it causes blood vessel problems."
The doctor, who frequently appears on TV as a medical expert added that "this is something of great concern," adding that the disease could have "long-term, lifelong, potentially, complications."
Erectile dysfunction can be caused by physical, medical or emotional factors, although years ago, it was mostly considered an emotional problem.
Currently, erectile dysfunction is largely considered a physical or medical problem, and there are a number of potential contributing factors.
