So That The SAR Team Will Get More Action When An Accident Occurs In The Water
JAKARTA - The Palu Disbursement and Rescue Office (SAR), Central Sulawesi, hones their skills by training to help in conditions that endanger humans while in the water. "This team training is needed to increase the ability of our personnel to carry out SAR activities while in the sea and river operations," said Head of the Palu SAR Office Andrias Hendrik Johanes in Palu, Wednesday, October 26. SAR training for personnel needs to be carried out, in order to increase knowledge. So when in the field it is more sensitive and able to apply the techniques that have been taught. This exercise is titled to Improve Team cohesiveness When Carrying SAR Operations, lasting for two days on 26-27 October 2022 with a total of 14 participants. "Previously, SAR training was carried out with rescue methods at high altitudes, mountains and forests. This team exercise played in the water," said Andrias.
According to him, each field has its own way of handling it, therefore it needs to be tested starting from coordination and team capabilities while in the field. Strengthening capabilities and skills is carried out through simulations, based on scenarios in all stages of SAR and mobilizing SRU during evacuation. "The materials presented are post management, medical first responder (MFR), water rescue technique and field communication," said Andrias.
Head of the Operations and Alert Sub-Section of the Palu SAR Office, Andi Sultan, said that the search and rescue operation was not sufficient with the mastery of rescue techniques, but needed to be supported by the team's cohesiveness. The success of a humanitarian operation cannot be separated from the team's management, both those on duty at the post and the team carrying out the evacuation or search process. "Taking the mission of humanity must be supported by a solid team, understanding each other. This solidity will facilitate our task in the field, there is no success in the handsome field task of cohesiveness and what is being done at this time is a form of strengthening," said Andi.
