GM Mengarik Kembali Produksi GMC Hukier EV Dan BrightDrop EV600, Ini Alasannya!
General Motors recalled the GMC Hummer EV and electric van EV600 products due to problems with the possibility of water entering the car battery packaging.
The recall appears to affect 735 GMC EVs, models in 2022 and 2023 and 89 GM electric vans from models in 2022.
GM said the model was considered a simple engineering failure, in which the flens on the battery's thick cover may not have been properly coated.
Launching Green Car Reports, GM's decision to withdraw this model was due to three reports coming in in August, that there was a water problem that went into battery packaging.
Of the three reports, two of them stated that the vehicle did not want to live, while the other case said the vehicle lost power while driving.
If water causes battery damage, GM notes that "one or more indicator lights of damage can turn on," with warning messages displayed on the driver's screen.
When investigated in August, withdrawal documentation revealed a change in the seal procedure was implemented.
To solve this problem, GM notified dealers on October 13 to check the battery packaging cover. Meanwhile, the owner's notification will begin on November 28.
Drivers are advised to check their vehicle identification number (VIN) at the GM Owner Center, or they can contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.
In August GM confirmed that water may leak through a high voltage connector into packaging in some vehicles. The problem is solved by traveling to the dealer for additional sealants applied to the connector.
