Fishermen In West Bangka Who Submerge Over The Pancing Equipment Found Non-Servive
The joint SAR team managed to find Julaidan alias Idam (45), a fisherman who was missing in the waters of Kundi, Simpangteritip District, West Bangka Regency.
Idam was swept away by the current during strong winds on Wednesday, October 26 in the early hours of the morning. He disappeared after being hit by a chart or traditional fishing gear.
"Last night's strong winds caused the chart to collapse and fishermen were waiting for the chart to fall into the sea. Two people managed to save themselves, while one person was swept away by the current," said Head of the West Bangka Police Polair Unit, Iptu Sugiyanto, in Mentok, West Bangka, Wednesday, October 26.
Two fishermen who managed to escape to the officers at around 01.00 WIB. The joint SAR team then followed up by conducting a search process.
The joint SAR team consisted of the West Bangka Police Satpolair Team, Polairud Polda Babel, Basarnas Babel and West Bangka BPBD. They searched a number of points around the scene.
Sugiyanto explained that Idam, a resident of Kundi Village, Simpangteritip District, West Bangka, was found dead.
"The search has been carried out since this morning and now the victim has been found not far from the scene," he said.
He appealed to the public to always be vigilant when looking for fish in the middle of the sea, and to always monitor weather developments from the BMKG, and to equip themselves with safety equipment, including buoys, life jackets, communication tools and others.
"Currently there are frequent sudden weather changes, safety factors must be the main consideration before going to sea," he said.
