Had Given An Emotional Hand Lambaian At The US Open, Serena Williams Claims To Not Think About Retireing

JAKARTA - Serena Williams insists she is not yet thinking about retiring from tennis. The veteran American player indicated the possibility of returning is very large.

This was conveyed by the owner of 23 grand slam titles in a press conference while promoting his investment company, Serena Ventures, in San Francisco, United States, Tuesday, October 25, western Indonesia time.

"I'm not yet retired. The opportunity [to return to playing tennis] is huge. You can come to my house, I have a pitch," Serena said.

This statement strengthens the essay he wrote last August in Vogue. In the essay Serena admits that she is developing very well.

However, the 41-year-old athlete had indicated that he would retire after the year-end grand slam competition, the US Open, last month. However, at that time he did not call the tournament the last competitive match of his career.

Although not his last tournament, Serena received great respect for every Flushing Meadows match. He also waved emotionally after losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third half.

Serena said that at the moment she was not preparing for the tournament after appearing at the US Open and that made her feel strange.

"I haven't really thought about [to retire], but I woke up a few days ago and went on the pitch and (considered) for the first time in my life not playing for a competition, and it feels really weird," he said.

Serena was one of the phenomenal athletes of her heyday. In total she won 73 titles during her 27-year career in tennis.
