JAKARTA - The growth in exports of Indonesian fashion products continues to show encouraging progress. In fact, Indonesia occupies the 16th position as a world fashion exporter with a market share of 1.69 percent.
Seeing this achievement, the government is committed to supporting and facilitating the growth of the Indonesian fashion industry to storm the global market. This was conveyed by Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan at the opening of Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2023. JFW is an annual activity that has been held since 2008.
This year, JFW will be held from 24 to 30 October 2022. This activity aims to encourage the development of Indonesian fashion and is expected to bring the Indonesian fashion industry into the world fashion market. Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called, emphasized that the presence of JFW must be able to grow the fashion industry in the country and at the same time be able to storm the global market. "Last week I closed the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2023 activity with successful implementation and transaction achievements of almost Rp. 300 billion. JFW is a much bigger event and is expected to continue to advance again," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, October 25. Zulhas said, the government, especially the Ministry of Trade, continues to support business actors, especially in the fashion sector to make it bigger. This is the task of the Ministry of Trade to help storm the international market. "If business actors are able to storm the world market, it means we are successful," he said.
Zulhas believes that the Indonesian fashion industry is able to storm the world market. Moreover, he said, Indonesian fashion is no less than any country. "Because it has resources with extraordinary talents. Therefore, it is time for Indonesia to storm the world market," he said.
