Koulibaly Absen, What's The Potter Choice Behind Scheme At The Chelsea Vs Salzburg Match?

JAKARTA - Chelsea will continue their campaign in the Champions League with a trip to RB Salzburg headquarters. Despite being a visitors, Chelsea are still eyeing victory in the fifth match of Group E.

Victory will lead Chelsea through to the next round. Currently, the Blues lead the standings with seven points, one point ahead of Salzburg in second place.

But the Blues' defense is in crisis. Kalidou Koulibaly is also reportedly absent.

The manager, Grahan Potter confirmed that the Chelsea centre-back would still be sidelined due to injury.

"This (the Koulibaly injury) is not too serious but this (Salzburg counter) game is too fast for him," Potter said.

"We hope to get it back on the pitch on Wednesday or next Thursday."

Koulibaly was previously absent when the Blues met Manchester United in the Premier League. He was absent due to an injury to his knee.

Apart from Koulibaly, the Blues have lost N'Golo Kante, Reece James, and Wesley Fofana are also not fully recovered.

Potter is likely to perform in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Cesar Azpilicueta and Ben Chilwell can flank Thiago Silva and Chalobah behind.

Another alternative, Potter will play a 3-4-2-1 formation. The defender trio will be played by Marc Cucurella, Chalobah and Silva.

While the wing will be filled with Chilwell on the left and Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Azpilicueta on the right.
