The KPK Leadership Is Confirmed To Join IDI For Health Check Lukas Enembe In Jayapura
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that its leadership will go to Jayapura to check Lukas Enembe's health. The governor of Papua will also be questioned later.
"The order and leadership of the KPK to carry out the main tasks and functions of the KPK by taking into account the provisions of the law," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata as quoted on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Tuesday, October 25.
Alexander does not yet know when and who the head of the anti-corruption commission will go there. Later, representatives of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) will also depart.
"KPK facilitates the health examination of LE (Lukas Enembe) as a form of respect for human rights as well as a form of accountability in law enforcement of corruption by the KPK," he said.
The KPK said it would soon form a team that would be dispatched to Jayapura, Papua to check the condition of Lukas Enembe. The team will be filled by an independent team of doctors.
Meanwhile, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe's attorney, Roy Rening, confirmed that IDI's independent team would examine his client in Jayapura. He even claimed that KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri would go there.
Roy received information that Firli would go to Jayapura from the KPK Director of Enforcement Asep Guntur Rahayu. However, it was not specified when the team would leave.
Lukas Enembe has been named a suspect by the KPK. However, the case that ensnared him has not been detailed.
Lukas will actually be questioned on Monday, September 26 at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. However, the examination was failed because Lukas admitted he was sick and could not provide information.
Furthermore, the KPK will return to make summons that have not been informed for sure. Lukas was asked to cooperate in fulfilling the training of KPK investigators because his statement was needed to make clear the allegations of corruption that occurred.
