BANYUMAS - Women's and Children's Protection Unit (PPA) of the Banyumas City Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Polresta) detained a perpetrator of violence against children that occurred in Langgongsari Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java.The perpetrator with the initials A (24) is a resident of Rancamaya Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas."The victim has the initials KTM (16), a resident of Cilongok," said Head of the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit Kombes Edy Suranta Sitepu accompanied by the Head of the Satreskrim Kompol Agus Supriadi Siswanto in Purwokerto, Banyumas, Antara, Monday, October 24.According to him, the case of violence experienced by KTM occurred on the banks of the Bamban River, Grumbul Karanggebang, Langgongsari Village, Cilongok District, last Thursday, October 20.The case began with the perpetrator's arrival at the victim's house on Thursday at 17.30 WIB pretending to be looking for KTM's father. Because the victim's father was not at home, the perpetrator took KTM out on the pretext of looking for a truck to work.However, on the way, the perpetrator took the victim to a quiet place. Arriving at that place, the perpetrator intended to rape KTM but the victim rebelled and fled.After the KTM was caught up, the perpetrator immediately tortured the victim by strangling, silenced his mouth, and drowning the victim's head into the water of the Bamban River. The victim also managed to save himself until finally being helped by residents.After knowing what happened to his son, continued Kasatreskrim Kompol Agus Supriadi, the victim's parents immediately reported it to the Cilongok Sector Police, then the police followed up with the arrest of the perpetrator."Furthermore, on Sunday at 15.00 WIB, the Banyumas Police Satreskrim PPA Unit received the handover of the perpetrator from the Cilongok Police," he explained.Based on the results of the initial interrogation and on the basis of sufficient preliminary evidence, he said, the status of the alleged perpetrator was upgraded from witness to suspect for further processing.In this regard, the suspect was charged with Article 80 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into Law and / or Article 351 of the Criminal Code.
