Amerika Serikat Dan Inggris Penganyakan Kemungkinan Serangan Di Ibu Kota Nigeria
JAKARTA - The United States and British authorities on Sunday warned of a possible terrorist attack on Nigeria's federal capital, Abuja, especially those aimed at government buildings, places of worship and schools, among other targets.
Nigeria fought ISIS insurgency primarily in the northeast, but in July the group claimed responsibility for an attack on a prison in Abuja, which released about 440 inmates, raising fears the insurgents roamed from their pockets.
Nigeria's US Embassy said there was an "an increased risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, particularly Abuja" and added shopping centers, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations were among risky places.
"The US Embassy will offer service reductions until further notice," the embassy said in a warning to citizens in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the UK Government warned its citizens in Nigeria to remain vigilant, as "an increase in the threat of terrorist attacks in Abuja."
"Attacks can be blindly and can affect the west interest, as well as places that tourists visit," he said.
It is known that the insecurity, which has spread throughout Nigeria, is a major problem for voters as they go to the polling station next February, to elect a new president to replace President Muhammadu Buhari.
Meanwhile, there has been no comment from the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on this matter.
