Corruption Of COVID-19 Social Assistance, Social Affairs Minister Juliari's Wealth Is Rp.47 Billion
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P Batubara as a suspect in the suspected Covid-19 social assistance fund (bansos) bribery case for the Jabodetabek area. The PDIP politician is suspected of receiving 17 billion bribes.
Then how much is the wealth of the PDIP Deputy General Treasurer for the 2019-2024 period? Juliari last reported his assets on April 30, 2020 for periodic reporting in 2019.
Reporting from the e-lhkpn.kpk.go.id site, Juliari is recorded to have assets of Rp.47.18 billion. Juliari's assets are dominated by assets and buildings scattered in various locations.
Juliari is recorded as owning 11 land and buildings available in Badung, Bali; Simalungun, North Sumatra; Bogor, West Java; and Jakarta with a total value of Rp. 48.1 billion.
Juliari also has a means of transportation in the form of a 2008 Land Rover Jeep, valued at IDR 618 million. Other movable assets owned by Juliari amounted to Rp1.1 billion. Securities worth Rp4.65 billion. Cash and cash equivalents, IDR 10.2 billion.
In total, Juliari has assets of Rp. 64.7 billion. However, Juliari has a debt of IDR 17.5 billion. Thus the total amount of assets reported to the KPK was Rp.47.18 billion.
Meanwhile, Juliari was named by the KPK as a suspect in the alleged bribery of Covid-19 social assistance funds. Apart from Juliari, in this case, the KPK also charged Matheus Joko Santoso and Adi Wahyono as Commitment Making Officials (PPK) of the Ministry of Social Affairs; as well as two private parties named Ardian IM and Harry Sidabuke.
Juliari is suspected of accepting bribes totaling Rp. 17 billion, which is allegedly a fee from a social assistance project partner. In the implementation of the first period of basic food assistance packages, Juliari received IDR 8.2 billion. Meanwhile, for the second period of implementation of the basic food social assistance package, fee money was collected from October 2020 to December 2020 amounting to around IDR 8.8 billion.
"The money is also suspected of being used for JPB needs," said KPK chairman Firli Bahuri at a press conference at the KPK Support Building, Jakarta, Sunday, December 6.
