Wisman Visit Meningkat, Asita Sulsel Harapannya Inovasi Untuk Terus Mengegiatkan Sektor Pariwisata
The Association of The Indonesian Tours And Travel Agents (Asita) of South Sulawesi, hopes that the government's policy to further facilitate foreign tourist arrivals as an effort to boost the tourism sector.
Chairman of the DPD Asita Sulsel Didi Leonardo Manaba said foreign tourist visits, which had begun to show an increase after the COVID-19 pandemic, should be a momentum for policy makers to continue to innovate so that the tourism sector does not fall asleep again.
"The ease of aircraft access and so on is very important to continue to be encouraged together so that our tourism sector can revive," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 23.
He explained that the ease of entry for foreign tourists, including increasing the number of visa-on-arrival (VoA) subjects, will also provide opportunities to offer or sell various tour packages throughout the country, especially in South Sulawesi.
"So there is a promotional impact where we can immediately sell. We hope that innovations that essentially make foreign tourists more interested because of the convenience offered," he explained.
Meanwhile, South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman said Toraja's direct flight to Balikpapan (East Kalimantan), as well as from Balikpapan to Toraja began operating on October 7, 2022.
The South Sulawesi Provincial Government also provides financial assistance to build infrastructure for the Ollon tourist attraction to provide subsidies for aircraft tickets for the Toraja-Kalimantan route.
"Hopefully this flight route will further increase tourism and the economy in Toraja," he said.
