Ganjar Pranowo Gaungkat The Spirit Of Local Food Consumption Anticipates Food Prone
JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo echoed the spirit of local food consumption in his area, as a substitute for rice and wheat. Thus, it can anticipate potential food hazards in the years ahead.
"Today we show off local food, with one hope that the public will understand more, that we are getting richer and we can do it. If today we prepare in the years ahead, the potential for food vulnerability will occur, then the movement will start today," said Ganjar, Sunday, October 23.
He added that the preparation started from upstream and downstream, so that everyone not only learns local food production, but also learns to process, to familiarize alternative food as a substitute or substitute.
Local food benefits, he explained, are also in good nutrition or nutrition for health. Especially, as a form of reducing stunting cases, starting from maternal pregnancy, as well as for children.
"It turns out that local food is quite able to help them. We involve research personnel, universities, farmers, local governments, collaborating in this activity," said the number one person in Central Java.
Head of the Central Java Food Security Service, Dyah Lukisari, said the local food potential for this province is very large. Such as cassava, sweet potatoes, corn, taro, and others.
"There is a lot of potential. The problem is that consumption is still not moving. Right now it is impossible for farmers to be pum but no one to buy it," said Dyah at the location.
Therefore, the challenge now is to start from downstream, which is to get used to people's tongue consuming sweet potatoes, cassava, and others. So that after the demand increases, farmers will be excited to plant because the production is taken.
"I try not to enter through ordinary forums, such as inviting millennials more. Because millennials segment most to eat local food," he said.
Local food activist, Zainu Fitroni as the supervisor and initiator of the Temanggung yard farmer association (Pastakaran) said that his party introduced local food products, such as corn rice, vegetable typical of the region, empis-empis, mocaf, taro, cassava, purple sweet potatoes, yellow sweet potatoes, and cassava.
We are moving in three ways, namely yard plants, local food, and agribusiness. This is the right moment and is Food Day. We are a community of farmers who develop agriculture and local feed," he said, at his booth showing off local food.
Local food movementer from Tegal Regency, Mubarak Ravi, said that his party made processed food from a cassava called Djintoel. The cassava is processed with cut, steamed, then cut thinly and fried into chips.
"It's very good for the government to finally get an exhibition. Hopefully, the products can easily enter minimarkets," he added.
