Encourage The Strengthening Of MSMEs For Increasing Export And Trade, Kadin May Government Collaboration To Banking

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Trade Juan Permata Adoe said strengthening the MSME ecosystem would be able to encourage increased exports and trade in Indonesia.

"One way to increase Indonesia's exports and trade surplus is through strengthening the MSME ecosystem," he said in a statement quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 23.

Therefore, Kadin Indonesia created the initiative of Kadin International Trading House, Wiki Wirausaha, and accelerated the development of halal certification for MSME players as an effort to contribute to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in helping MSMEs to expand the market, including opening up export market opportunities.

Juan reminded the importance of collaboration and synergy between the government, business actors, banks, and other stakeholders in assisting MSMEs in domestic and foreign trade.

This is also in line with the message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Jokowi that there is a need for an Indonesia Incorporated so that large, medium, small companies work together, collaborating together to solve problems in the field concretely.

"The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the government are key enablers to accelerate Indonesia's trade balance by increasing the export of MSMEs in Indonesia, which requires high competitiveness of MSMEs. Therefore, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce creates vocational bodies to provide provision so that they can improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia," he said.

Juan also added that it is important to instill a mindset that Indonesia's goal of importing is for exports.

On the same occasion, Head of the Logistics and Supply Chain Agency of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Akbar Djohan, said that without trade, there would be no logistical activities.

He hopes that the government's target to reduce national logistics costs to 17 percent from 23 percent will be able to provide added value and solutions for MSME players.

"With efforts to reduce logistics costs, it is hoped that it can provide added value, as well as solutions for business actors, especially MSMEs. Moreover, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry also always strives to provide socialization and education to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs so that they can help them compete in regional and international markets," said Akbar.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee for Export Development of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Audit Subekti also said that as an umbrella for the business world in Indonesia, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will assist business actors and MSMEs in opening up global markets and guiding them to get export opportunities.

"One way to encourage export growth is to strengthen the capabilities of MSMEs in digitizing. Digitalization is also an important key for MSMEs in the export process," said Audist.
