Indonesia Achieves 2 Silvers And 1 Bronze From ACC 2022
JAKARTA - The Indonesian mountain bike racing team (MTB) pocketed two silver and one bronze in the 2022 Asian continental Championships (ACC) in Suncheon, South Korea, 19-23 October.
Two silvers through young Red and White athlete Feri Yudoyono who took part in the Cross Country Olympic (XCO) Junior Putra and Sayu Bella Sukma Dewi on the XCO Under 23 Putri number on Friday, October 21.
Then the bronze was won by Zaenal Fanani who participated in the Men's XCO Elite number which rolled out on Saturday.
"At the Men Elite, Zaenal Fanani got bronze and opened up opportunities for the Olympics," said the Manager of the Indonesian Bike Racing National Team, Budi Saputra, quoted from Antara on Sunday.
"What is encouraging for the future of the MTB XCO national team, we have potential young athletes at Women U23 and Men Junior who won silver, namely Sayu Bella and Fery Yudoyono," said Budi.
For Fanani, she finished third after recording a time of 1 hour 30.31 minutes.
The athlete from Lumajang, East Java, was behind Japan's Riki Kitabayashi who won gold after posting 1 hour 29.30 minutes and host athlete Mino Kim in second place with 1 hour 30.05 minutes.
Indonesian representatives in the XCO Men Elite Ihza Muhammad had to settle for seventh place with a time of 1 hour 35.46 seconds.
SAKARTAehari sebelumnya, Feri Yudoyono menyabet medali perak XCO Junior Putra setelah membukukan 56 menit 25 detik. Dia berada di belakang Sho Takahashi dari Jepang yang sefinis terpan dengan 54 menit 14 detik. Adapun perunggu menjadi milik wakil Malaysia Muhammad Syawal Mazlin dengan 56 menit 57 detik.
Sayu Bella also performed nicely in the women's XCO Under 23. Even though she had fallen, she got up and finished second with 1 hour 13.15 minutes. Japanese representative Arri Kobayashi became the winner with 1 at 09.10 minutes.
In XCO Women Under 23, another Indonesian representative, Dela Anjar Wulan, finished sixth with 1 hour 25.41 minutes.
Then for XCO Men Under 23, Ade Agung Dian Tara was only able to finish sixth with 1 hour 15.35 minutes.
Indonesia also fielded Yunia Shahdat in the XCO number Women Junior. She finished the race in fifth place after posting 58 minutes 10 seconds.
As for MTB Downhill discipline, four Indonesian racers have not achieved good results.
From Elite Putra, Hildan Avosma Katana finished ninth and Mohammad Abdul Hakim was eleventh. Then in the women's sector, Ayu Triya Andriana finished fourth and Riska Amelia Agustina failed to finish after the accident.
