Fajar/Rian To The Denmark Open 2022 Final, Title Of Indonesian-Owned Men's Doubles Champion

JAKARTA - Indonesia is confirmed to have won one title from the Denmark Open 2022 badminton event. The men's doubles sector is definitely owned by the Red and White team.

This certainty was obtained after Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto qualified for the 2022 Denmark Open final. That means there will be an All Indonesian Final.

Previously, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon had already made sure to qualify for the top party. They beat the Malaysian pair, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik through the rubber game 21-17, 13-21, 21-17.

Meanwhile, Fajar/Rian followed after passing through another Malaysian pair, Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi. They won two straight games 21-16, 22-20 in a semifinal match at Odense, Saturday, October 22.

Two hitting errors made by Fajar colored the start of the match, which gave Ong/Teo the opportunity to take the lead. Left behind by 5-8 made Fajar/Rian try to cover the loss, which then successfully won four points in a row and changed the position to 9-8.

The two partners are still involved in a technical battle ahead of the interval break. Luckily Fajar/Rian was able to maintain the advantage until the end of the game after putting a troublesome pressure on Ong/Teo.

Towards the end of the game, the Malaysian pair could not control the blow so they often made mistakes. Ong/Teo's critical situation was put to good use by Fajar/Rian to close the game with an initial victory.

The tense situation took place in the second game. Fajar/Rian, who initially had the potential to fail to win two straight games due to being left behind by five points in the middle of the game, suddenly played more emphatically.

Fajar/Rian who were at a score of 12-17 were able to equalize to 17-17. After that, the Indonesian pair raised the level of play and continued to shower Ong/Teo with smashes and dropshots that led to areas without guard.

Fajar/Rian, who first reached the match point, was matched by Ong/Teo, but fortunately, the Indonesian representatives won two points in the 45th minute.

This result extends Fajar/Rian's list of victories over Ong/Teo to 6-2.
