JK Family Policies Danny Pomanto Regarding Edhy Prabowo's OTT Accusation, Police: We Will Process It

JAKARTA - Candidate for Mayor of Makassar Danny Pomanto was reported by the family legal team of former Vice President Jusuf Kalla regarding the circulation of a recording of alleged defamation.

The report is related to Danny Pomanto's accusation linking the arrest of Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) some time ago with JK.

"Yes, the report has been received, and we will process it. Currently it is still in the process of investigating," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police (Sulsel) Kombes Ibrahim Tompo when confirmed by reporters in Makassar, reported by Antara, Saturday, December 5.

Regarding the contents of the circulating recordings, he said, the police would still investigate, and had not yet determined its status. However, his party still received the report.

The legal adviser and reporter in this case, Yusuf Gunco, confirmed that he had reported the person concerned regarding the alleged defamation, referring to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE).

The report was related to a 1 minute 58 second video recording similar to Danny Pomanto's voice circulating to the public linking JK to the recent arrest of KP Minister Edhy Prabowo by the KPK. Not only that, it is not yet known what the purpose and motive for the talks in the recording was.

"Yes, we have reported it to the South Sulawesi Regional Police. We hope that this report will be processed," said Yusuf, who is also a former member of the Makassar City DPRD for the two periods.

JK's eldest son, Solihin Kalla, through his written statement stated that he had reported Danny Pomanto to the South Sulawesi Regional Police of the Criminal Investigation Unit regarding the circulation of the recording which was suspected of slandering his father.

"We, Jusuf Kalla's sons and daughters, strongly object to the heinous slander that has been accused of our parents in the recording which is allegedly Danny Pomanto's voice," said Solihin Kalla, JK's son.

Previously, a video, accompanied by a voice recording, allegedly the voice of Danny Pomanto, accused the former 10th and 12th Indonesian Vice President, HM Jusuf Kalla, of being the mastermind behind Edhy Prabowo's arrest in the alleged corruption case of importing lobster seeds.

Danny Pomanto's legal team clarification

Danny Pomanto's spokesman, Aloq Natsir Desi, when confirmed in connection with the case explained that the contents of the video and voice recordings had been edited. Not only that, the contents of the recordings are only ordinary discussions and are merely a form of analysis of the currently developing political phenomena.

"That is just an ordinary discussion, and part of an analysis of recent political phenomena in the country. There is no purpose or even defame someone's reputation," he said.

However, responding to the report, his party also plans to report to the Regional Police who recorded and disseminated the recording, so that it becomes material for public consumption which is not true.

"Our plan is to report tonight to the Polda who are the people who deliberately recorded it and distributed it everywhere," he also said.
