The General Election Commission (KPU) has appointed the KPU of Depok City, West Java, to be ranked first in the best logistics planning category for the 2024 General Election at the district/city level. The Depok KPU is considered to have carefully prepared the implementation of the 2024 General Election stage.

The award plaque was handed over by the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari to the Chairman of the Depok City KPU Nana Shobarna in front of around 1,200 participants of the 2024 Simultaneous General Elections Logistics Preparation Coordination Meeting, in Bogor, 27-29 September 2022.

Election logistics in the form of ballots and others are one of the important instruments in the stages of holding elections that should not be underestimated in the five-year democratic process.

At the coordination meeting, the Indonesian KPU submitted a list of contents to the regency/city KPU to answer various logistical issues, warehouse matters, mapping of TPS equipment and others.

The head of the Depok City KPU, Nana Shobarna, said that the filling was carried out by the Secretary of the Depok City KPU seriously, in detail and in detail, according to needs, did not expect, Saturday, October 22, quoted from Antara.

For example, the list of logistical contents for the 2024 election regarding the area of the warehouse needed, must be filled in by calculating the size and number of ballot boxes, so that the required warehouse area will be known. Likewise, filling in other logistics that were asked by the Indonesian KPU, the Depok KPU filled in in detail.

Filling in the Depok City KPU logistics in detail and detail received an award from the Indonesian KPU as the Regency/City level KPU with the best logistics planning.

In addition to the award, the Depok City KPU also received an award in the best logistics management for the West Java level during the 2020 Depok Pilkada contestation.

The 2020 Depok Pilkada was held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, the Depok City KPU issued a policy to facilitate the implementation of regional elections, namely that the multiplicating of ballots was carried out directly at the factory, because it was impossible to gather hundreds of people in one place in a warehouse to fold ballots during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Depok City KPU's policy of multiplicating ballots is carried out directly at the factory. This was later adopted in the upcoming 2024 election as revealed by the Head of the Indonesian KPU Logistics Division, Yulianto Sudrajat, that the 2024 election logistics will be folded in the factory.

So, the Depok City KPU during the 2020 simultaneous regional elections, did not face problems with logistics. There is no shortage of ballots or logistics affected by flooding in the warehouse, because these things have been anticipated beforehand.

The awards obtained from both the Indonesian KPU and the West Java KPU have motivated the Depok KPU to further improve performance, maximize its potential and capabilities.

With good planning regarding logistics at the Depok City KPU, the Bandung City KPU has been interested in conducting an appeal study regarding good logistics management.
