BLACKPINK Becomes The First K-pop Headliner At The Hyde Park London BST Festival

JAKARTA - BLACKPINK was asked to be the first K-pop artist to become a headliner at the Hyde Park British Summer Time (BST) festival in London.

The organizers announced BLACKPINK as one of the headliners for the festival in 2023. The YG Entertainment group quartet will appear on Sunday, July 2.

The unstoppable @BLACKPINK is the next headliner for BST Hyde Park 2023, appearing on Sunday 2 July," tweeted Hyde Park's BST account on Friday, October 21.

Apart from BLACKPINK, the names that have been announced are Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band, Billy Joel, and P!NK.

In 2019, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop group to appear at the Coachella festival. Their performance received a positive response from the public at which time the group had just started their international promotion.

BLACKPINK's performance is a form of promotion from the release of their latest album, BORN PINK which was released last September.

With more than 2 million copies in mind, BLACKPINK also set a new record through the release of the song Shut Down as the main single.

Currently BLACKPINK is carrying out the BORN PINK world tour starting North America on October 25 followed by Europe in December.

BLACKPINK is also scheduled to hold a concert in Indonesia on March 11, 2023. So far it is not known who the promoters will bring with them Jennie, Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo.
