Liga 1 Masih Mandek Usai Tragedi Kanjuruhan, Thomas Doll Yakin PSSI Will Find The Right Time

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach, Thomas Doll admitted, was affected by the termination of the 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition following the Malang tragedy. Even though he was disappointed, the German still put full trust in PSSI.

The 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition, which had only been rolling for 11 weeks, had to be stopped after the Arema FC vs Persebaya match in Surabaya took place, last October 1. This follows an incident that killed 134 people due to chaos at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

More than two weeks after the incident, the competition is still delayed until an undetermined time. However, Doll believes PSSI must have a plan for better national football.

"The most important thing is to believe (with) PSSI because the federation will definitely make a League 1 plan when it will run again. I hope everyone must be patient and trust PSSI," said Doll, quoted from the club's official website.

"I believe PSSI can find the right time when the league can start," he continued.

For Thomas Doll, the tragedy is clearly a tough and shocking blow for Indonesian football players as well as the world.

But according to him, the most important thing right now is to make the situation better and run normally again.

"The most important thing is that everything returns to normal. Indeed, all events in Kanjuruhan shocked everyone, but life had to go on," said the former Borussia Dortmund coach.

"We can't control everything, hopefully, everyone can play football again and I don't want players to lose their motivation (playing football)," said Thomas Doll.

Before this, news circulated that the League 1 competition would resume on November 25-26, 2022, based on information from the Task Force Team (Task Force). However, until now, there has been no definite decision regarding the continuation of Liga 1 has not yet been determined.
