Continues To Increase, Corona Virus Death Toll In China Has Reached 106 People

JAKARTA - The death toll from the corona virus outbreak (2019-nCoV / Wuhan Flu) in China jumped drastically to 106 people. In addition, as of Tuesday January 28 there were 1,771 new cases confirmed by the Chinese authorities.

If you add up, the cases of the corona outbreak in China alone have touched 4,494 cases. Most of the victims who died came from Hubei Province, the epicenter of the outbreak.

Apart from air, the corona virus can be transmitted through physical contact, this was conveyed directly by the Chinese National Health Commission (NHC).

Quoted from the South China Morning Post, the incubation period for the new corona virus averages three to seven days, with the longest being no more than 14 days. The NHC added that the new type of coronavirus that is currently endemic is 85 percent similar to SARS.

The NHC also warns that children and babies can catch the coronavirus but their symptoms are relatively mild.

Outbreak Control Efforts

In Shanghai, a newly developed antiviral spray has been used in the emergency room of the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center. The sprays are used to protect medical staff from human-to-human transmission.

However, the spray cannot be used for patient treatment because it has not received approval.

Meanwhile, the Chinese National Immigration Office recommended all Chinese citizens to postpone unnecessary overseas travel. This aims to reduce the movement of people across borders to prevent and control the corona virus.

Apart from mainland China which advises people to do activities indoors, now Hong Kong has also made similar regulations. Most Hong Kong civil servants will be required to work from home for the rest of this week to minimize the threat of the spread of the coronavirus.

The Hong Kong government also urged the private sector to do the same. The regulations take effect from Wednesday January 29 to Sunday February 2, pending a review of the virus.
