The Health Office Calls Not Finding Cases Of Kidney Fail In Children In South Kalimantan

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - The Health Office (Dinkes) has ensured that South Kalimantan (Kalsel) is free from cases of mysterious acute kidney problems in children to date.

Head of the South Kalimantan Health Office, Dr. Diauddin, said that his party was following up on the Ministry of Health's appeal which then carried out an epidemiological investigation resulting in South Kalimantan being free of the case.

"So, according to the update until October 19, 2022, in South Kalimantan there have been no classified cases as GGA PA," he said in a written statement, Friday, October 21.

Based on the data he obtained, the number of cases of mysterious acute kidney disorders in children in Indonesia as of October 19 was recorded at 205 cases. All of them are spread across 14 provinces.

Diauddin explained in detail, of all cases in the country, 61 (29.75 percent) cases were declared cured, 30 (14.63 percent) cases were still under treatment, 114 (55.61 percent) cases died and 11 (5.36 percent) were declared exclusive.

From the distribution of the data, he continued, the five provinces with the most cases were DKI Jakarta (44 cases), West Sumatra (27 cases), Aceh (26 cases) and West Java and East Java with 25 cases each.

Responding to this case, Diauddin admitted, his party had made efforts, including distributing the Decree of the Director General of Health Services Number HK.02.02/I/3305/2022 dated 28 September 2022 concerning the Management of the GGA PA Clinic and Management in Children at health care facilities (fasyankes) to all district/city health offices and hospitals as well as other health facilities in the South Kalimantan region.

"Instructed to carry out epidemiological investigations and reporting if there are suspected GGA PA cases in the South Kalimantan region," he said.
