Nazaruddin Goes To Colombia KPK Chase, Why Hasn't Harun Masiku Been Monitored?
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) still takes a long time to arrest fugitive Harun Masiku, who is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. The public is also wondering why the KPK, which is now under Firli Bahuri's leadership, has not arrested Harun Masiku.
Like looking for a needle in the husk, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Kurnia Ramadhana believes that the KPK is no longer serious about finding the PDI-P candidates. He felt that the anti-graft agency's performance was starting to decline.
"The KPK track record has always been fast to find the perpetrators. For example, even Nazaruddin who is far away in Colombia can be found and arrested by the KPK," said Kurnia when contacted by VOI by telephone, Tuesday, January 28.
It is known, to arrest M Nazaruddin, former General Treasurer of the Democratic Party, the KPK in the Busyro Muqqodas era took a month, considering that he was hiding in Cartagena, Colombia.
At that time, Nazaruddin was appointed by the KPK as a suspect in the bribery case of the Kemenpora athlete homestead. However, on June 30, 2011, he and his wife flew to Vietnam after outwitting officers.
Then from Vietnam he headed to Cambodia before finally leaving for Bogota, Colombia on July 22, 2011 through Madrid, Spain and Dominica. Shortly living in Bogota, Nazaruddin then moved to Cartagena before being arrested.
Meanwhile, a different case occurred with Harun Masiku, after reportedly fleeing to Singapore, it turned out that the candidate who bribed Wahyu Setiawan, the former KPU commissioner, left for Singapore on January 6 and returned on January 7 for Jakarta or the day before the hand arrest operation (OTT) related to PAW bribery. happen.
So reflecting on this, ICW considered it quite strange if Harun could not be arrested immediately considering his current presence in Indonesia. "This is why Harun who is clearly in Indonesia to this day has not been found," said Kurnia.
"Nazaruddin, who is far away in Colombia, can get it. This is clearly in Indonesia, how come, people don't get it," he added.
Previously, the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Harun Masiku, responded with resignation. He said looking for a candidate from the bull party was like looking for a needle in the husk.
"Finding that person (Harun Masiku) is not easy, yes, it's the same as looking for a needle in the husk, okay," he told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Monday, January 27.
Although he seems slow, the KPK chairman from the Bhayangkara Corps is confident that he will find the fugitive. Because, Firli claims, his men have been looking for Harun in various places. Including the place that is suspected as the hiding place
"Is it in Sulawesi, whether in South Sumatra, we have done everything but nothing, we have not caught it," he said.
It is known that the KPK named Harun as a suspect in giving bribes to Wahyu Setiawan through his confidant who is a former member of Bawaslu, Agustiani.
This bribe was given because Harun wanted to replace Nazaruddin Kiemas who died after being elected as a member of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2019-2024 period and to do this, Wahyu Setiawan asked for an operational fee of IDR 900 million.
Even though according to the provisions of candidate replacement in Article 426 Paragraph 3 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, Nazaruddin's position should be replaced by Riezky Aprilia who received the second highest number of votes in the Electoral District of South Sumatra I with 44,402 votes.
