JAKARTA - The former Head of the Coordinating Bureau for the Supervision of PPNS, Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo, was charged with 2 years and 6 months in prison. The prosecutor asked the judge to find Prasetijo guilty in the case of Joko Tjandra's fake pass.
"(Demanding the panel of judges) Sentenced Prasetijo Utomo to a sentence of 2 years and 6 months imprisonment reduced while the defendant is in custody," said prosecutor Yeni Trimulyani during a trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Friday, December 4.
In making the charges, the prosecutor also considered things that were burdensome and mitigating for Prasetijo. It was burdensome, the defendant was convoluted and did not come clean in giving his testimony.
In addition, Prasetijo, who is a state official, has violated his office obligations. Meanwhile, the things that relieve the defendant have never been convicted before.
"Based on the description, we, the Public Prosecutor (JPU), concluded that the defendant Prasetijo Utomo was proven to have committed a criminal act of letter forgery as regulated in Article 263 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," he said.
Then, the defendant Prasetijo was also proven to have violated Article 426 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. Namely, letting people who have been deprived of their freedom run away. "As well as obstructing the investigation process by destroying the evidence contained in Article 221 Paragraph (1) of the 2nd KUHP," he continued.
So, the prosecutor asked the panel of judges to decide that Prasetijo was proven to have committed a criminal act of letter forgery.
For your information, this case began when Joko Tjandra, who was a fugitive, asked his lawyer, Anita Kolopaking, to take legal action against the Supreme Court reconsideration (PK) decision in 2009.
However, the attempt to submit a PK application to the South Jakarta District Court (PN) was rejected because he could not bring Joko Tjandra. For that reason, this fugitive asked Anita to arrange everything, including her arrival to Indonesia via Supadio Airport, Pontianak.
The management of Joko Tjandra's arrival was also assisted by the former Head of the Coordinating Bureau for Supervision of PPNS, Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo.
This is because Anita asked Prasetijo to ask a police officer in Pontianak who could accompany Joko Tjandra to complete documents in the form of a COVID-free rapid test letter and a health certificate.
But Prasetijo actually agreed to Anita's request to do it himself. In fact, Prasetijo took the initiative to use a pass and rapid test from the Police.
