Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan: Public Understanding of Crypto Assets is Not Too Deep, Education and Literacy Are Needed
JAKARTA - Indodax's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Oscar Darmawan, assesses that public understanding of crypto assets is not too deep, so ongoing education and literacy efforts are needed.
“I see that the prospect of crypto investment in Indonesia is very big going forward. However, education and in-depth literacy are still the main jobs for us industry players", Oscar said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 19.
According to him, although the number of crypto investors is quite large, the understanding of crypto is not too deep.
The Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (CoFTRA) noted that the total number of crypto investors by the end of August 2022 had reached 16.1 million investors, an increase of 43.75 percent compared to the position at the end of 2021 as many as 11.2 million investors.
Recently, actress Natasha Wilona has officially become a priority member of Indodax.
Oscar welcomes and believes that the joining of Natasha Wilona as a member of Indodax Prioritas can spread enthusiasm, and interest, and increase public confidence in investing in crypto assets in Indonesia more broadly and massively.
With the Indodax #JadiSefrekuensi campaign currently running, Natasha Wilona is a representative of the Indonesian people to be able to learn crypto together with Indodax.
The presence of Natasha Wilona is also expected to help Indodax provide literacy related to crypto and blockchain in Indonesia more broadly.
Being a member of Indodax Prioritas, Natasha Wilona shared the reasons and background why she finally jumped into investing in crypto and chose Indodax as the mainstay crypto trading platform.
Having entered the digital era, he considers that investment does not only have to require a lot of money or capital because nowadays, especially for the younger generation, it also is not necessarily able to raise money to invest in products that require a lot of money to buy them.

"With digital investment, we find it easier because we can learn directly from the internet or ask the customer service team, so there are more guidelines. We also don't need to be afraid of having to spend very large amounts of money. But of course, we have to choose a safe platform as well", said Natasha.
The actress, who first learned about investing in digital assets from her friend and sister, also explained her reasons for choosing Indodax as a platform to buy crypto assets.
"From the first time I met the Indodax team, I tried to find out what Indodax and digital assets were because I didn't want to be careless and tried to find out what their track record was like. What about tax reporting? Is this platform really safe and secure? secure for us to keep our investment there", said Natasha.
