Live Streaming On TikTok Now Has An Adult Special Opportunity

JAKARTA - TikTok has just launched a special live streaming option for adult users and limits the age of those watching the content.

With this new feature, only content creators aged 18 years and over can host live streaming on the short video application.

"Currently, users should be 16 years and over to host on live streaming. From November 23, the minimum age will increase from 16 to 18. As we consider the extent of our global audience, we have taken a gradual approach to features that our community can access by age," TikTok said in a statement quoted Wednesday, October 19.

Direct live streaming specifically for adult users is not an invitation to publish adult content on the platform. However, any content broadcast will be asked to comply with platform rules.

In this case, the ByteDance-owned app asks content creators to ensure that minors do not see content that is more aimed at adult audiences.

"Acarers may plan to talk about difficult life experiences and they will feel more comfortable knowing that the conversation is limited to adults," TikTok said.
