KPK Arrested Edhy, Prabowo: I Picked Him Up From The Gutter 25 Years Ago

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Gerinda Party, Prabowo Subianto, admitted that he was disappointed with the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo. Edhy has stumbled on a case of alleged lobster seed export license bribery.

It was conveyed by his younger brother, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, in a press conference on the topic of right of reply to slander related to lobster fry export, at Jetski Cafe, Pantai Mutiara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Friday, December 4.

"He (Prabowo) is disappointed with the child he picked up from the gutter, 25 years ago," said Hashim.

According to Hashim, he and his family, including Prabowo, don't like corruption. It can harm the name of his extended family. Given, Prabowo's family is part of Indonesia's freedom fighters.

"Prabowo is angry, disappointed. Feeling betrayed. To be honest, he told me in English. I pick him up from the gutter. And this what he does to me," he said.

As is known, Edhy is a Gerinda cadre. He is one of the people who are quite close to Prabowo Subianto. Before stumbling across the case, Edhy held the position of Deputy Chairman of Gerinda.

Edhy Prabowo has been named by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the issuance of a lobster seed export license.

The KPK arrested him upon arrival at Soekarno Hatta Airport after a working visit to the United States, on Wednesday, November 25, in the early hours of the morning. KPK investigators immediately led Edhy and 16 other people, including his wife, Iis Rosita Dewi, to be questioned.

In the arrest, the KPK secured several pieces of evidence. One of them is a debit card. It is allegedly being related to the corruption case.
