It Is Suspected That The Intervention To Dismiss The Constitutional Court Judge Aswanto, Bambang Pacul, Was Reported To The DPR MKD
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul was reported to the House of Representatives Honorary Court (MKD) by the Civil Society Coalition to Save Judicial Independence.The report is the aftermath of the dismissal of Constitutional Court (MK) judge Aswanto through the DPR Commission III Meeting and was ratified at the VII Plenary Meeting for Session Period I 2022-2023 at the end of last September. This complaint letter was received by the DPR MKD Secretariat on Tuesday, October 18.Bambang Pacul was reported to the MKD because it was suspected that there was intervention by the DPR against the Constitutional Court by replacing Aswanto. Bambang himself is the leader of Commission III of the DPR who said that Aswanto was dismissed because of his disappointing performance."We see that there are allegations of intervention carried out by the DPR against the Constitutional Court by changing Aswanto," said Representative of the Civil Society Coalition to Save the Independence of Justice as well as researcher of the Institute for Community Studies and Advocacy (ELSAM) Shevierra Danmadiyah when confirmed, Tuesday, October 18.The reason for the astonishing removal, according to Shevierra, was because Aswanto often annulled the DPR product law."Even though the Constitutional Court judge's law was dismissed, there were several conditions," he explained.Therefore, Shevierra emphasized that the decision to dismiss Aswanto as a constitutional judge was legally flawed and had violated ethics."This is a legal defect.
