Bareskrim Arrests Azan Jihadist In Cibadak

JAKARTA - The National Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a man who was the perpetrator in the viral call to prayer video which was changed from 'hayya alal solah' to 'hayya alal jihad'.

Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yowono, said the perpetrator with the initials SM (22) was arrested in the Cibadak area, West Java, on Friday, December 4 in the morning.

"Yes, it is true, Dittipidsiber has arrested a man in this case," Argo told VOI, Friday, December 4.

However, Argo did not specify the role of SM (22) in this case. So far, the alleged perpetrator is still under intensive investigation.

However, in an arrest based on police report number LP / B / 0685 / XII / 2020 / Bareskrim, the police also confiscated four pieces of evidence. Some of them include cell phones, shirts, and white caps.

"The person concerned has committed an alleged criminal act intentionally and without the right to disseminate information aimed at creating hatred or enmity for certain individuals or groups of society," said Argo.

Thus, the investigator suspects the perpetrator with Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) Law Number 19 Year 2019 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions and / or Article 156a of the Criminal Code.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya also arrested a man with the initials H who was suspected of being the party who spread the video of the jihad call to prayer on social media. H is the owner of the Instagram account @hashophasan. He was arrested in Cakung, East Jakarta.

This arrest was based on a report on November 29, 2020. In the report, the video was deemed to contain elements of ethnicity, religion, race and intergroup (SARA)

"The video can cause provocation, as if Indonesia is fighting against the enemy. The reporter as a Muslim community feels that he is being aggrieved and then reports to the regional police," said Yusri Yunus.

Meanwhile, based on the results of the investigation, suspect H, who is a document courier at a private company, admitted to having received the video from the Whatsapp Group (WAG) Forum Muslim Cyber One (FMCO) News.
