Apple Is Sued To Include A Charging Adapter On The IPhone 12

JAKARTA - Apple decided not to include a charging adapter in the box that sells the iPhone 12. Unfortunately, this decision made Apple sued by consumer protection agency, Procon-SP in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Launching from the Apple Insider page, the agency asked Apple to include a charger adapter in the sales package for the iPhone 12 sold in Brazil. If not, Apple will be accused of violating consumer protection rules in that country.

Procon-SP considers that the charger adapter is an important accessory that consumers must have when buying products. The reduction of vital accessories such as adapters will certainly reduce the rights of consumers who have bought the iPhone 12.

The reason Apple doesn't include a charger adapter in the sales package for the iPhone 12 is because it wants to reduce carbon emissions and product waste. Given that most Apple consumers already have an iPhone adapter from the previous model.

The same thing happened in France, when Apple was legally forced to include Airpod accessories in the sales package. Because Apple has reduced the size of the box packaging for its iPhone sales, Apple was asked to bundle other accessories in another package.

The iPhone 12 sales box itself only contains the charging cable, iPhone and user guide, while other accessories such as the charger adapter and AirPods are sold separately. For the price, Apple sells the cheapest variant of the iPhone 12 for around 699 US dollars.
