The Nominal Salary For The Minister, PMI It Is Hoped That Jokowi Can Save And Buy A House
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) advised Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) to save from the salary received so they could buy a house. This is because the nominal salary that PMI receives is higher than the minister's basic salary.
"The minister's principal salary is Rp. 19 million, I can't believe Ida's mother (Fauziyah), the Minister of Manpower's mother, her salary is Rp. 19 million. The salaries are Rp. 22 million," said Jokowi when releasing PMI G to G South Korea in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 17.
The President advised PMI three times, especially those officially dispatched to South Korea through the intergovernmental cooperation program (G to G), today not to forget to save.
"Don't expect to be in Korea (South Korea), which is bought by a good cellphone. That's consumptive, be careful, buy good clothes, branded ones. Save, save, save," he said.
Jokowi does not want the money generated from PMI's hard work in South Korea to be wasted on objects that are not productive or bring income back.
Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani added that all PMIs had high hopes at the beginning of working abroad and returning to Indonesia with a dream to prosper their families.
Benny reminded PMI not to return to their homeland without having anything, because they were tempted by consumptive behavior.
