Sambut 2022 Qatar World Cup, Diaspora Indonesia Shows Art Shows At Doha
JAKARTA - Art performances by the Indonesian diaspora amazed Qatari residents at the Flag Plaza event which was held in Doha on Friday (14/10), to welcome the 2022 World Cup. This show is a tangible form of collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Doha, the Indonesian diaspora, and the Qatari government," said Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Ridwan Hassan in a written statement received by Antara, Sunday.
Five art groups, namely Puspa Qinarya (tari), Indonesian Premier Angklung, Al Khor Art House (tari), Mesaaied Arts Studio (tari), BIG Choir, and a saksogon player managed to amaze hundreds of spectators from various nations at an event held at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) complex, a very famous museum in Qatar.
Indonesia itself fielded around 154 performers in the event.
Indonesia's performance has always been eagerly awaited by various groups of people. And sure enough, last night was the most spectacular night. Almost all appearances received a lively welcome," said Ambassador Hassan.
More than 30 countries have participated in the Flag Plaza event. Indonesia's presence at the event feels special because next year Indonesia will become a counter partner of the Indonesia-Qatar Cultural Year, namely in 2023.
