The Capital City Of Nusantara Will Apply The Forest City Concept For Endemic Animal Fishing In Kalimantan
JAKARTA - The concept of "Smart City" in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN), among other things, by implementing a forest forest forest concept, is believed to be able to lure endemic Kalimantan animals to come such as defenders, monkeys, orangutans, birds, and various other animals.
"These animals used to live in the area, but because forests were damaged by the addition so that they left, now with the presence of IKN carrying the concept of a forest city in a smart city, of course the animals will return," said Martinus, a member of the East Kalimantan Provincial DPRD in Samarinda as quoted by Antara, Sunday.
He appreciated the concept of green development implemented by the government in the IKN area, because this pattern is development that is not only oriented towards human interests, but other creatures are given the right to live.
To realize the return of various endemic animals to the location that is now the IKN area, he continued, endemic trees are also needed that grow there such as forest mangoes (kweni), tengkawang, ara, Bengalon, and others.
In this case, he continued, the youths in particular, and the people of East Kalimantan in general, could participate in helping with breeding because those who are better familiar with endemic plants are local residents.
Previously, the Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya said, to realize green development in IKN, even showed off realizing President Joko Widodo's wish that 75 percent of the IKN area must be green, so a nursery center has been created in the IKN area.
The nursery center with an area of about 35 hectares is located in Mentawir Village, Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency. The nursery center will also develop a nutfah plasma center.
Green development in IKN needs to be supported because what is protected is all living things. Indeed, every development should go hand in hand with environmental restoration, development must pay attention to environmental sustainability.
As for the role of East Kalimantan youth in the long term, he invites youth to prepare skills in various aspects of life, especially in terms of agriculture, both food, plantations, horticulture, fisheries, and livestock, because new residents who will live in IKN will definitely need food.
