Turning To 4G, Telkomsel's 3G Network In 19 Cities Was TURNed Off
JAKARTA - A total of 19 cities or regencies spread across Sumatra, Kalimantan, Maluku, and Central Java will finally experience the 4G/LTE network thanks to the transition that has been carried out by Telkomsel in stages this month.
"This effort will be able to improve the digital lifestyle experience of the community, as well as open up the acceleration of the transformation of the national economy in the future," said Telkomsel Network Director Nugroho in a statement received by VOI, Sunday, October 16.
The cities or regencies include Merauke, Mandailing Natal, Seruyan, Kapuas, West Kutai, Karanganyar, Boyolali, to Sleman.
The process of transitioning 3G network services to 4G/LTE has been carried out by Telkomsel since March 2022 by targeting 504 cities or regencies in Indonesian population areas.
To date, the process of transitioning 3G network services to 4G/LTE has been in 185 cities or districts. Through the network upgrade process, Telkomsel recorded an increase in the number of customers who had switched to using 4G uSIM to 10 percent.
For customers who want to exchange or change non-4G cards to 4G USIM, they can go through a number of customer service channels. For example, customers can take advantage of online mechanisms by accessing e-commerce partners, as well as utilizing the GraPARI Online service via tsel.me/graparionline.
Information regarding the card change process, customers can access Telkomsel's service information on the official social media accounts of Telkomsel's Facebook and Twitter and Telkomsel's Virtual Assistant (VA) on a number of leading instant messaging platforms. As for the offline mechanism, customers simply visit the nearest GraPARI or MyGraPARI service.
During the migration process to uSIM 4G and during uSIM registration, Telkomsel will ensure that all personal data registered on the customer's previous non-4G card is in accordance with the identity of the Population Identification Number (NIK) and Family Card Number (KK) listed on the electronic ID card and Family Card (KK).
Customers can check the suitability of their identity through access to the USSD Menu Browser (UMB) *44# directly from the customer's cellphone. If there is a discrepancy, customers are expected to re-register by re-typing
Customers who wish to migrate to the 4G USIM are expected to first check the availability of 4G networks in their area and 4G support for the device used. Checks can be done easily through *888*47#.
