Police Call The 2022 Tour De Bintan International Championship Safe And Conducive
TANJUNGPINANG - Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Kombes Harry Goldenhardt, stated that the international bicycle racing event Tour de Bintan which took place from 14-16 October 2022 was safe and conducive.
"Alhamdulillah, the 'Tour de Bintan' activity went smoothly and the situation was very conducive," said Harry, quoted from Antara, Sunday, October 16.
He said the security system was carried out strictly because it involved hundreds of participants from 33 countries.
A total of 336 police officers and 15 TNI members were deployed to secure these activities.
Security officers monitored a number of locations. On the first day of Tour de Bintan, officers were on standby at 4 posts at a crossroads that participants passed, then on the second day at 31 posts at a crossroads.
Today, officers watched from 31 posts at a crossroads.
"We built integrated security posts at every crossroads that participants passed. We have to make sure all participants, committees and residents are in a safe condition, and activities run smoothly," he said.
Harry hopes that this international standard tourism activity can give confidence to foreign nationals that tourist attractions in Riau Islands, especially in Lagoi, Bintan, are in a safe and comfortable condition.
"Lagoi and other tourist destinations in Riau Islands are ready to accept foreign tourists. We hope that foreign tourists' visits will continue to increase to accelerate national economic recovery," he said.
Hundreds of personnel from various agencies in Bintan also worked together to make this activity a success.
The Bintan Transportation Service has deployed 71 personnel to regulate road traffic through Tour de Bintan participants, and 64 members of the Civil Service Satpol to participate in securing the implementation of the Tour de Bintan.
"A total of 30 security personnel from PT Bintan Resort Cakrawala also helped secure the implementation of the Tour de Bintan," he explained.
Harry gave his appreciation to the TNI, Satpol PP and the Bintan Transportation Service, health workers and security units from companies that manage tourism areas in Lagoi.
"With the cooperation, the synergy that was built, the Bintan Tourism Office managed to organize international standard tourism activities," he said.
