TGIPF Asks BKO Soldiers To Protect Security Football Matches Understand Again 8 Mandatory TNI

JAKARTA - President Jokowi has received a report on the results of the investigation of the Independent Fact Finding Joint Team (TGIPF) of the Impact Tragedy. Its contents include recommendations to the TNI.

One of the points of recommendation to the TNI to fully adhere to the '8 Mandatory TNI' attitude when assisted with operational control (BKO) to secure football matches.

"Suppressing the 8 mandatory TNI in every soldier assignment," said point d in the TGIPF recommendation to the TNI seen by VOI, Friday, October 14.

TGIPF recommendations are also related to the legal process of a number of TNI members who were involved in the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. TGIPF requested that the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa as the leader monitor the case involving his subordinates until the verdict falls.

"Continuing the process of handling violations of soldiers related to the holding of football matches in Kanjuruhan," said point A TGIPF recommendation to the TNI.

Previously, the Military Police of Military Command (Pomdam) V Malang conducted an examination of five TNI soldiers suspected of being involved in the Flood Tragedy.

Those examined, four with the rank of Sergeant II and one Private I. The five were examined for allegedly committing repressive actions, including kicking Arema FC supporters, Aremania, as in the viral video footage on social media.

According to Pangdam V Brawijaya, Major General TNI Nur Chahyanto, the acts of violence committed by TNI soldiers against football supporters exceeded the limits of authority. As a result, many Arema supporters were injured and hurt.

"So for this act of violence, we have arrested five soldiers who are suspected of committing violence against Arema supporters. They are still undergoing examination in Denpom V Region 3 Malang Pomdam V East Java," said Chahyanto, Wednesday, October 5.

Separately, General Andika Perkasa has confirmed that TNI soldiers who are proven to have committed violence in the Kanjuruhan Tragedy will be punished with criminal sanctions.

"We have been conducting investigations since yesterday afternoon and we will continue with the legal process, because of what? Because it is the viral one, it is very clear that the action is beyond the authority. So we will not lead to discipline, no. But punishment. Because it is already too much," Andika said at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs office, Jakarta, Monday, October 3.
