TGIPF Conclusion: PT LIB Prioritizes Business More
JAKARTA The Independent Team of Fact Findings (TGIPF) revealed that the Malang Ferry Tragedy could occur because PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of league competition in Indonesia prioritized business factors.
This is written in point a in the conclusion section regarding the LIB submitted by TGIPF to President Joko Widodo at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday afternoon WIB.
"Not considering the risk factor (high risk match) in determining the match schedule and prioritizing factors
"profit from commercial (business-oriented) from broadcast hours in the media," the report read.
The schedule for Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya matches on October 1, is still one of the factors causing the fall of 132 fatalities at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.
After the incident, it was revealed that the match had actually received a recommendation from the security forces to hold it in the afternoon. This recommendation takes into account the risks and tensions of the match.
However, the match was still held at night which made it difficult for the evacuation process in the event of a riot. Until now, PT LIB and the broadcaster are still throwing responsibilities.
Apart from being considered more concerned with business, PT LIB is also considered as an alpa in several other ways so that hundreds of lives have to be lost.
"Tidak mempertimbangkan track record/deputy, dan kompendisi terkait kualitas petugas, ketua jambang penaksana (pernah mendapatkan sanksi hukuman dari PSSI)," tambah TGIPF.
Then, the next negligence of PT LIB was when he pointed out that security officers did not check their competence (the briefing was only carried out through a video conference zoom meeting for 2 hours, and certification was given because of the need for an investigation concerned on October 3, 2022).
The other two points are that the personnel who are tasked with supervising in the field are not optimal in carrying out their duties and the absence of elements from the leadership of PT LIB before the match ends.
From these findings, TGIPF recommended seven important points that LIB had to fix. PSSI also received 12 recommendation points, including for General Chair Mochamad Iriawan and his ranks to resign from office.
