TGIPF Asks Police To Hold A Supporter Investigation That Nyelonong Enters The Kanjuruhan Field

JAKARTA - TGIPF asked the National Police to conduct an investigation into Arema FC supporters during the match against Persebaya which ended in a mass death tragedy. Those examined were supporters who jumped into the Kanjuruhan field.

"The National Police also needs to immediately follow up on investigations into supporters who carry out provocations, as initially entered the field so that other supporters follow," wrote the TGIPF report that had been submitted to President Jokowi, Friday, October 14.

"... the supporters who threw the flares, vandalized the car inside the stadium, and set fire to the car outside the stadium," the report continued.

Initially, the atmosphere of the football match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya went well, even after the match was declared complete with the results of Persebaya's 3-2 win match.

"Then, about 14 to 20 minutes after the length of the match sounded (by the referee), conditions are still conducive," said member of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Choirul Anam.

After that, several Aremania began to go to the field to encourage the team they support.

"Detail we saw it (through a video that became evidence). Indeed, there were fans entering the field, but to encourage them. But, tear gas relieves the fans' panic," explained Anam.

"What Direntelkam did was in the name of the East Java Police Chief," wrote this report.

The National Police and the TNI also need to immediately follow up on investigations of their members who took excessive action against the riots after the Arema vs Persebaya match on October 1, 2022. Starting from those who provided tear gas, firing tear gas at spectators (tribun) allegedly carried out outside the command, Kanjuruhan Stadium managers who did not ensure all open gate leaves, Arema FC, and PSSI who did not supervise the safety and smooth running of the match.
