Mahfud MD: The Acceleration Of Victims Of The Tragedy IsURTer Than The Circulating On Social Media

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as well as Chairman of the Kanjuruhan Independent Fact Finding Joint Team (TGIPF), Mahfud MD, revealed what was experienced by victims of the dire Tracing.

According to Mahfud, moderate or serious injuries and trauma of the violence experienced by the victims of the tragedy after the Arema FC vs Persebaya match on Saturday, October 1, exceeded what was witnessed on the small screen or social media (medsos).

"The fact that we found the victim who fell, the process of the victim's fall was much more terrible than circulating on television or on social media," Mahfud MD said during a press conference at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday, October 14.

Mahfud said this was concluded based on CCTV footage in the Kanjuruhan Stadium area, Malang Regency, East Java. The CCTV was obtained by an investigation team from the police.

"Because we reconstructed from 32 CCTVs, which the authorities have," he said.

Mahfud MD and all TGIPF members handed over the findings of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy investigation that took 132 lives to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Friday, October 14 afternoon.

The TGIPF report was submitted to the head of state after the findings were deemed completed by TGIPF on Thursday, October 13 yesterday.
