Indonesian Women's Doubles Apri/Fadia Pursuing Positions Of The Top 15 BWF
JAKARTA - The pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti became Indonesia's new focus in the women's doubles sector. This new couple has proven its quality by appearing impressive in several major tournaments.
The pair also won several prestigious titles. Call it the 2021 SEA Games gold medals, the 2022 Malaysia Open and the 2022 Singapore Open.
In fact, Apri / Fadia made several surprises by beating several top seeds. Their achievement makes Apri / Fadia currently ranked 24th BWF.
They set a target to be able to break the top 15 of BWF at the end of the 2022 season. "If the target this year is to enter the top 15. Now we want to increase the ranking again," said Fadia, as quoted by Antara.
Ahead of the European tour starting next week, Apri/Fadia are clearly targeting the title. However, they didn't want to be too assertive.
Apri/Fadia want to play as well as possible and hope to get through every round well. Of course they want the European tour to be capital so they can move up the ranking as expected.
"The target is to win in Europe, but we don't want to be grandiose and want to focus one by one matches. We want to win in Denmark and France," said Fadia.
During training, Fadia also honed his drawbacks based on an evaluation of last month's tournament. According to Fadia, the focus aspect is a sector that he must fix before leaving for Europe.
"If I lack focus and durability. The competition at the top is getting tighter and more crowded, so I have to find loopholes so I don't die easily myself too," said Fadia.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Development and Achievement Division of PP PBSI Rionny Mainaky said that every player who went to Europe brought a target that had been directed by the organization.
He is optimistic that his players can compete optimally after absorbing the portion of training for a long time in Cipayung.
"We did give the target before there was a draw, so when the draw came out there were some of them who were shocked when they saw their opponents. But yes, it was a challenge and they had their own chance to win," said Rionny.
