Tina Turner Version Barbie

JAKARTA - Celebrating the 40th anniversary, rock singer Tina Turner now has a replica of her own Barbie doll. The Boneka is part of Mattel's Music Series. The look of the Grammy winner, wearing the clothes he used in the iconic music video What's Love Got to Do With It.

Barbie Tina wore a mini black dress, denim jacket, thin black tight pants and black rights shoes. The most prominent parts of the doll were Tina's patterned and textured hair, the style she often used throughout the 1980s when she changed her image as a solo singer.

"We use a lot of screenshots to see hair in all corners. There is a lot of temptation and use of hairspray," said designer Bill Greening, quoted from Variety, Friday, October 14.

What's Love Got to Do With It became the singer's first and only single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1984.

The song also became the title of the 1993 biographical film Tina Turner, starring Angela Bassett. She brought home three awards for the song at the 1985 Grammy Awards.

"Barbie is proud to honor the unrivaled career of 'Queen of Rock 'n Roll' with the Barbie doll @TinaTurner," said Mattel.

"The collectors and music fans can both celebrate the music icon with the new #Barbie signature doll," he continued. Barbie Tina's dolls will join other musicians such as David Bowie and Gloria E way.
