JAKARTA - The Indonesia International Challenge 2022 tournament at Platinum Arena, Malang, has entered the quarter-finals. A total of 14 Indonesian representatives will take part.
The quarter-finals of Indonesia International Challenge 2022 will take place on Friday, October 14. A number of leading players are believed to be running smoothly into the next round.
Meanwhile, of the 14 Indonesian representatives who participated in the last eight, five of them came from the mixed doubles sector.
While three representatives fell in the women's doubles sector, three representatives played in women's singles, two representatives struggled in the men's doubles, and one player was the men's singles.
One of the mixed doubles that qualified was Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah. They advanced to the quarter-finals after a three-game battle that ended 21-12, 17-21, 21-15 over Taiwanese pair Lin Yu Chieh/Wang Xin Yu.
"Even though she was just paired up, because Nita used to play mixed doubles, I could feel better and didn't need to adapt anymore. I already know how to play. I just cover it up," said Adnan, quoted by PBSI's official statement via Antara.
Adnan/Nita will next face off against their fourth seeded compatriot Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Marsheilla Gischa Islami, who previously eliminated the South Korean pair Gwang Min Na/Seung Yeon Seong.
Other mixed doubles that will appear in the quarter-finals are Ghana Muhammad Al Ilham/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, Hafiz Faizal/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
