The Execution Of Wanda Hamidah's House In Menteng Took Place In A Riot, Central Jakarta Police Chief: Our Job Is Only Security

JAKARTA - The execution of the house carried out by Satpol PP and the ranks of the Central Jakarta City Government in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, was chaotic, Thursday, October 13. The occupants of the house persisted when joint officers came to empty them.

The incident was recorded on camera and uploaded to the Instagram account @wanda_hamidah. The video footage was also mentioned by the National Police Chief's Instagram account to President Joko Widodo.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin confirmed the execution activity in the Cikini area, Menteng. However, he did not know who the owner of the house would be executed by the Satpol PP.

"I don't know who owns the house at the control location earlier (the house of the hamidah)," Kombes Komarudin told reporters, Thursday, October 13.

However, the police are only tasked with carrying out security at that location.

"Our job is not to be the executor. The control is carried out by the Central Jakarta City Government, we (the police) are only securing it so that there is no interference from third parties," he said.

Based on the amateur video footage, it was seen that a number of people outside the security officers were also involved in the execution of the house emptying.

"People who were brought in from the owner of the house or where we took care of it. Earlier, our observations were seen gathering people who did not know their whereabouts, but we managed to block them. So they did not interfere," he said.
