Topolang Industri Dan Jalur Tol Sumatra, Gardu Induk Sidomulyo 60 MVA Mulai Masuk Sistem Kelistrikan

BANDARLAMPUNG - PT PLN (Persero) succeeded in conducting an operation test of the Substation (GI) with a capacity of 60 megavolt ampere (MVA) Sidomulyo and 4 towers of 150 kilovolt SUTT (KV) in Lampung Province which entered the Sumatra electricity system through the process of administering the first voltage.

"The success of synchronizing has helped strengthen the reliability of PLN services in Lampung. Lampung is experiencing increasingly rapid development with the increasing growth in electricity consumption, which is an average of 8.56 percent," said General Manager of PLN South Sumatra Development Main Unit, Muhammad Dahlan Djamaluddin, in a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 12.

He explained the importance of immediately increasing the supply and reliability of electricity in this area. Moreover, electricity will support various development interests, including industry to the Sumatra toll road.

"South Lampung Regency has been projected to become a large industrial area and is currently developing, there is a steel smelting plant there that is ready to absorb 24 MVA of PLN electricity. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible by PLN to be able to continue to maintain electricity supply and reliability in this area," he said.

He added that based on the RUPTL, Lampung is one of the provinces with very rapid electricity growth, the use of electricity in urban areas to districts and villages has become a basic need that must be met.

Dahlan emphasized that the success of the development of electricity infrastructure certainly did not escape the attention and support of stakeholders and all elements of society.

Manager of the Implementing Unit for the Southern Sumatra Project 3, Haryo Wisnuaji, explained that currently the electricity system in South Lampung Regency, especially Sidomulyo, is receiving electricity supplies from three interplayed Occupiers from GI.

Volkano's auctioneer from GI Kalianda and Pilot Auctioner and Standard Auctioner from GI New Tarahan.

Previously, the electricity system in Sidomulyo, according to him, was supported by the closest GI, namely GI Kalianda and GI New Tarahan. This makes the quality of the voltage less optimal which has the potential to cause electricity to be less reliable.

"The Sidomulyo Main Hall has a capacity of 60 MVA, with 4 Tower SUTT 150 kV which has a transmission line length of 2 kilometers (kms) and stretches along Sukabanjar Village, Sidomulyo District," he explained.

In its implementation of synchronization, the team faced enormous challenges when carrying out free space supply activities and network cuts off without turning off existing routes.

Technically, the operation of this substation will replace the Mini Sidomulyo substation, which currently operates as well as the cut off of the 150 kV Sebalang-Kalanda SUTT line.

In addition to being consumed by a Baja smelting company in South Lampung Regency, PLN electricity from GI Sidomulyo will also support the electricity needs of the factory industrial area, tourism and including electricity for residents' houses in the area.

The impact is certainly very significant on improving the electricity system in South Lampung itself. Not only will it increase the reliability of the electricity system, but it will also foster new potentials that can be developed by the people in the region," said Haryo.
