37 Days Towards The 2022 World Cup: Ordering Aircraft Tickets From The UAE To Qatar Mening, Allegedly Supporters More Vote To Stay In Dubai
JAKARTA - There has been a spike in flight ticket bookings to Qatar. Ticket orders to Qatar ahead of the World Cup increased a total of 10 times more than the same period before the pandemic.
Ada 10 negara yang jadi pemesan tertinggi. Salah satunya berasal dari Dubai, Uni Emirati Arab (UAE), demikian laporan lembaga analis penerbangan swasta ForwardKeys.
"Dubai (UAE) became the largest customer to reach 103 times compared to the same period in November to December this year and 2019," ForwardKeys wrote as quoted by Reuters via Antara.
The nine other countries with the highest number of orders are Mexico with 79 times, Argentina 77, Spain 53, Japan 46, South Korea 24, Brazil 14, Tunisia 13, and France and the United States 11.
According to the report, the high flight rate from Dubai is thought to be due to many football fans who prefer to stay or stay in the UAE capital rather than in Doha, Qatar.
Factors of the lack of accommodation in Qatar are the cause of prospective World Cup audiences preferring Dubai to be a place to live.
Ticket requests also continue to soar despite the requirement to show negative results from the COVID-19 test to enter Qatar.
In terms of tourism, the 2022 World Cup also brings fresh air to a number of neighboring countries. Orders for flights to the Gulf region rose 61 percent, while in the November-December 2019 period it was only 16 percent.
Foreign tourists who come to the Gulf region are dominated by the United States with 26 percent, followed by Canada 10 percent and the UK nine percent.
"Dubai is the largest beneficiary of this sports plenary trend, by capturing 65 percent of the number of visits," said ForwardKeys.
The host reported an increase in bookings for 31,123 hotel rooms by the end of the first quarter, according to information compiled by Reuters from Qatari tourism authorities.
FIFA has booked 80 percent of available rooms in Qatar for players, guests and officials during the tournament. FIFA is expected to release unnecessary rooms to the market over the next few weeks.
